Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) briefing session

Lincolnshire CCG would like to invite you to attend a virtual briefing session on the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED).  This event is aimed at:

  • Providers who are not yet on the Lincolnshire Continuing Healthcare Residential & Nursing Any Qualified Provider (AQP) framework;
  • Providers who are looking to join the Continuing Healthcare Residential & Nursing AQP service (Window 3) framework;
  • Providers who were successful on Window 2 of the Continuing Healthcare Residential & Nursing AQP service, but have a conditions precedent in their contract that relates to the PSED.

The events will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams, by invitation only but will be open to anyone who registers their interest in attending.

To register your interest in attending one of the events, please email lccg.chccontracting@nhs.net and ask to be included on the PSED briefing session invite list.  You MUST provide an valid email address (so that you can be sent the Microsoft Teams diary invite) and state which of the 2 events you would like to attend.

The PSED briefing is being provided by the CCG Equality Lead to give Care Home providers an overview of what is required under PSED and increase knowledge and awareness of this area.  Assurance of a home’s compliance with the PSED is a key assurance aspect for the CCG and the CCG must be assured of providers in order to contract with them.  The session will last approximately 60 minutes and will give those attending an insight into what the PSED is, why it is important and how an organisation can ensure it is compliant.  The session will also touch on how you can demonstrate you comply with the PSED, which is key to successful tenders with Lincolnshire CCG.  Therefore, if you are considering tendering for Window 3 of the Continuing Healthcare Residential & Nursing AQP service, it would be highly beneficial for you to attend one of these sessions.  The importance of the PSED is even greater during COVID, the Equality and Human Rights Commission has said the following: The requirements of the general duty remain in force and are critical in ensuring that public bodies consider the needs of people with protected characteristics as they respond to coronavirus.

 The dates for the sessions are:

  • Monday 25 January- 14:00
  • Thursday 11 February- 10:00
