The launch of the CQC's new provider portal is well underway with the organisation being keen to ensure that their digital services meet the key goal of accessing services in a smarter more consistent way. 

 

The portal is being promoted as easier and quicker to use with features scheduled in 2024 to include a pre-population of provider and service information, a clear history of activity and details of interactions with CQC. 

 

Currently, nominated individuals from a small group of providers have been invited to start using the portal allowing them to submit some types of notifications. The future rollout will allow registered managers and other staff members within organisations to access the portal. Functionality will give differing levels of access to information.

 

Tips for providers to aid a smooth transition include:

  • Make sure that all of your service information is up-to-date, this includes contact details
  • Keep updated with CQC news and updates
  • Keep your staff updated
  • Keep your PIR up-to-date
  • Show evidence of commitment to gaining and using stakeholder feedback to improve your service

Note that providers must continue to use the current portal until invited to join the new one.
