Social care funding for digital care records
Access funding
The NHS Transformation Directorate (previously NHSX) is currently providing funding to support the digital transformation of social care. The funding is to trial digital social care technology with integrated digital care systems, including:
Infrastructure to improve access to high-speed connectivity and devices for care providers
Fall prevention technologies that can reduce the frequency and severity of hospital admissions
Digital care records to ensure data is captured at the point of care and can be shared between care settings.
Digital social care records vs paper records
Which is better?
In the rapidly evolving landscape of the health and social care sector, the choice between traditional paper records and modern digital social care records for a social care setting is a critical decision that care providers must make in order to improve the quality of their care provision. The management of resident information plays a pivotal role in providing efficient, personalised, and secure care.
In this blog, you can explore paper and digital records, assessing their effects on accessibility, feasibility, data management, and delivering quality care to residents.
How our digital social care record system, mCare, supports a person-centred approach
Focusing care on the needs of individual
Recognising that each resident has different needs, preferences, and abilities is essential in a care setting. In order to provide a person-centred approach, it's crucial to understand and cater to the specific needs of each individual.
In this short video, Andrew Coles, Chief Product Officer at Person Centred Software, explains how our digital social care record system, mCare, supports a person-centred approach to care.

Person Centred Software acquires DepenSys, leading dependency and staffing tool for care homes
Assisting care homes with calculating staffing requirements based on residents' needs
We are thrilled to announce that DepenSys, a leading dependency and capability tool for care homes, has joined our family of products!
With this acquisition, over 6,000 care homes can now provide better care by assessing residents' needs, determining the time and skills required to meet those needs, and comparing the suggested staffing levels with the actual level, enabling care homes to quickly calculate within a minute, staffing requirements based on residents' needs.
We're delighted to be able to provide assistance to care homes in addressing a highly prevalent problem that significantly affects their CQC assessments and the overall quality of care.
