This week, Lincolnshire Care Association hosted two successful shortlisting events as part of the 2026 Care Awards programme. Due to the exceptionally high number of nominations received this year, a new activity-based judging format was introduced, allowing judges to assess nominees in person before they progress to interview panels.
The events featured a series of practical and problem-solving activities designed to showcase key qualities including leadership, teamwork, inclusivity, communication, and adaptability. Following the activities, the attendees had a celebratory afternoon tea.

Residential Care Awards Shortlisting Event
On 3 November 2026, the Residential Care Awards shortlisting event was held at Springfields Event Centre. Nominees took part in a variety of logical and practical challenges, giving judges the opportunity to observe how individuals approached tasks and worked with others in a team environment.
Following the assessments, a number of nominees were selected to progress to the next stage of judging. These candidates will attend interview panels on 17 November 2026.
Community Care Awards Shortlisting Event
On 5 November 2026, the Community Care Awards shortlisting event took place at Thonock Park Golf Club. While the format mirrored the Residential Care event, participants completed a different range of activities and challenges specifically designed for this category.
Successful nominees have now been informed and will move forward to the next round of judging on 17 November 2026.

Lincolnshire Care Association would like to thank all nominees, our guest judges and supporting organisations involved in both events. The standard of nominations was exceptionally high, and we look forward to recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements of Lincolnshire’s care workforce at the awards ceremony.
